Our Story
We Started Playing. Then We Couldn't Stop.
Paloma started with a game of padel that didn't go according to plan.
A group of friends in Auckland picked up rackets for the first time. They were excited. They were also overwhelmed. The marketing was full of jargon, nobody could agree on which racket to actually buy, and the whole thing felt like it needed a degree in spin indices and flex ratings just to get started.
They grabbed something, headed to the court, and had an absolute blast.
That's the bit the traditional sports industry keeps missing. The game itself is brilliant — social, accessible, and weirdly addictive from the very first rally. Getting started doesn't need to be complicated. It just needs to work.
That's what Paloma is.
We make carbon fibre padel rackets designed for the way most people actually play — with friends, at the weekend, for fun. Not for rankings. Not for sponsorships. Just for the joy of getting out on a court and hitting a ball around.
Our rackets are built to proper spec — 3K carbon fibre, high-density EVA foam, teardrop shape — without all the noise that usually comes with it. We describe them in plain English. We price them fairly at $149 NZD. And we back every order with free NZ shipping and 30-day returns, because buying a racket online shouldn't feel like a gamble.
We're based in New Zealand and we're proud of it. The padel scene here is growing fast — new courts are popping up around the country, and more Kiwis are discovering the sport every week. We want to be the brand that makes it easy to jump in.
Paloma is about making sport a social destination, not just a workout. Come for the game. Stay for the community.
If you've got questions, want to know which racket to start with, or just want to chat about padel — reach out. We're a small team and we actually reply.
